Presence is Priceless

One thing which I find it surprising is that its hard for people to use their common sense at all times. That applies for myself too. Nowadays, I realised that I am zoning out a quite frequently, not paying attention to what people speaking to me after a point, less attention span towards content. I was trying to understand the reason. The trigger before the minute of zoning out is the thought of an external cause. After few seconds, you’ll lose the track of those train of thoughts and your brain can’t retrace back to come back to its initial place. Sometimes, that one external thought comes because you had a severe impact on it or it comes when you find your present job to be boring. In my case, its the first one and I regret doing it because I love doing the present job of what I do. The next question which arises in my mind is how to overcome it. The answer is simple, reduce the cognitive load on your brain. Have no load rather. Try out different things which interests you. Give a pat to yourself for what you have accomplished. Didn’t do anything, its completely fine, consciously spend your free time. Just don’t let your brain take a roller coaster by itself.

To-dos, following calendar never gonna help. Instead, it might put you in a rat race. Do things which makes you happy eternally. Don’t fall for short term dopamine pleasure. I’ll try understanding about neuro psychology better to feed answers for such type of questions arises out of me. I find it interesting to question all these and I am equally more excited to find answers too!
